Formación de la terminología retórica

Abstract

[ES] A partir del origen metafórico del léxico especializado en las lenguas técnicas, el trabajo se centra en la formación de la terminología retórica. La primera parte del estudio recuerda la naturaleza metafórica de la terminología retórica clásica. En la segunda parte el autor trata de descubrir qué criterios parecen haber determinado la elección de términos griegos o latinos para la transmisión del contenido retórico. Se aventura una hipótesis sobre la razón de esta diferencia en la elección de términos de raíz griega o latina.

[EN] Starting from the assumption that the specialised lexis of technical languages has a metaphorical origin, this paper focuses on the formation of rhetorical terminology. The first parí of this study is devoted to reviewing the metaphorical nature of classical rhetorical terminology, while in the second part, the author tries to find out what kind of criteria might have determined the choice of either Greek or Latin terms for the transmission of specific rhetorical contení. A hypothesis is advanced to account for the difference in the choice between Greek-rooted or Latin-rooted terms.
