[EN] Although several studies highlighting the activation of the PI3K/Akt pathway in myeloma, there is less information on the status and role of the mTOR pathway. Here, we explore, using molecular techniques, the state of the mTOR pathway in primary myeloma cells and cell lines. We will also use RNA interference of these two branches of the mTOR pathway to explore the role of these two pathways in myeloma cells. Attempt to provide evidence of the importance of the mTOR pathway in the development of multiple myeloma.
Another part of this study is to identify the resistance mechanism of myeloma cells with TRAIL. The anti-myeloma efficacy of TRAIL has been shown previously. However, TRAIL resistance is a common problem for this therapy directed not only in myeloma, but also in other types of cancer. Try to demonstrate the molecular events involved in the resistance of myeloma cells to TRAIL through studies in vitro culture model of resistance. These studies may facilitate the clinical use of TRAIL.
