It includes issues such as the landscape, the population and the economy. It compares the valleys with a traditional economy and way of life with those that have been developed around the ski resorts and those that have been profited from the tourism that has been attracted by the natural protected areas.

Tras examinar las características geográficas del territorio y repasar sus etapas históricas desde el siglo XII, el trabajo analiza los itinerarios propuestos.; [EN]This paper presents some tours around the fortifications at the border between the province of Salamanca and Portugal with the goal of boosting the tourism in this area. After considering the geographical features of the territory and reviewing its historical phases since the twelfth century, the paper analyzes the proposed itineraries.
