[ES] Se han estudiado las características histológicas del tallo, hojas y raiz de especies del género Amaranthus. Destacamos las peculiaridades estructurales de estos órganos: existencia de haces vasculares medulares irregularmente distribuidos en el tallo; presencia de una endodermis o «vaina del haz» en los primordios foliares y florales; un meristemo lateral primario coincidente con el periciclo del tallo. También se analiza el modelo de desarrollo de la raíz, su sistema vascular central y la actividad meristemática responsable del crecimiento secundario de este órgano.; [EN] The histological characteristics of several species of the genus Amaranthus have been studied in stems, leaves and roots. Among the structural peculiarities of these organs can be pointed out the following: a) the existence of medular vascular bundles irregularly distributed in the stem; b) the presence of an endodermis or «bundle sheath» in the floral and folial primordia; c) a lateral primary meristem coincident with the pericicle of the stem. The model of development of the root, its central vascular system and the meristemal activity responsible of its secondary growth have also been analyzed.
