On the one hand, as a medical drama, it allows to examine the fiction of doctors and patients, the bioethical dilemmas raised in each of the cases, and the implications of the professional actions in the lives of patients. On the other hand, the peculiar qualities of the protagonist (characterized with a diagnosis of autism and savant syndrome, which makes him both extremely intelligent and not very skilled in social relations) are the key of access for the analysis of representations about people with autism, both in the cinema and on television. In this article we will focus especially on the representation of autism and the fact that the guest is the first autistic doctor to appear in a medical drama. What are their characteristics? How is the guest of The Good Doctor characterized? Its usefulness for students of health sciences is multiplied and allows to return to bioethical questions as well as aspects linked to doctor-patient communication and the limits and possibilities of the medical practice.; La serie televisiva The Good Doctor / El buen doctor (TV) (2017) de David Shore (Estados Unidos) resulta fecunda para analizar diversas cuestiones de importancia para las ciencias de la salud. En primer lugar, en tanto que serie médica, permite adentrarnos en la ficción de médicos y pacientes, los dilemas bioéticos suscitados en sus relaciones y las implicaciones de la actuación profesional en la vida de los pacientes. Por otra parte, las peculiares cualidades del protagonista (caracterizado con un diagnóstico de autismo y síndrome de savant, lo cual lo hace ser tan extremadamente inteligente como poco hábil en las relaciones sociales) resultan la vía de acceso para el análisis de las representaciones sobre las personas con autismo, tanto en el cine como en la televisión. En este artículo nos focalizaremos especialmente en la representación del autismo y en el hecho de que el protagonista sea el primer médico autista en aparecer en una serie. ¿Cuáles son las características de estos personajes? ¿Cómo está caracterizado el protagonista de The good doctor? This article also reviews the situation of acromegaly and gigantism in the nineteenth century, “freaks” public exhibition and the most famous "giants" in Spain in the second half of this century.; Se relata la historia vital novelada de uno de los gigantes más famosos del siglo XIX: Miguel Joaquín Eleizegui Ateaga (1818-1861), nacido en una aldea próxima a Tolosa; Altzo, en la provincia de Guipúzcoa. This is a more frequent issue among the female population and exerts particular pressure on elite athletes, where weight is a significant factor in performance (gymnasts, dancers...). Consequently, this research aims to identify the risk factors and symptomatology of eating disorders among elite athletes highlighted in the film “Perfect Body” (1997), by performing a bibliographic review. The film explores risk factors such as colleagues with eating disorders, weight-obsessed coaches or poor body image. Likewise, it identifies symptoms such as vomiting, a disproportionate increase in exercise or fatigue. The film "Perfect Body" (1997) gives a simple, real-life, visual glimpse of the risk factors and symptoms for high performance gymnasts and, therefore, the film is highly recommended to address this issue.; En la sociedad actual se han puesto de moda unos perfiles físicos difíciles de seguir, lo que está generando que un porcentaje de la población desarrolle diferentes trastornos alimentarios con el objetivo de conseguir dicho canon de belleza. Este problema afecta con más frecuencia a la población femenina y, en especial, ejerce presión en deportistas de élite, donde el peso es un factor relevante para conseguir un buen rendimiento. Por ello el objetivo de este trabajo ha sido identificar los factores de riesgo y la sintomatología de los trastornos de la conducta alimentaria en deportistas de élite reflejados en la película “Perfect Body” (1997). En la película pueden observarse factores de riesgo como, compañeras con trastornos de la conducta alimentaria, un entrenador obsesionado con el peso o la insatisfacción corporal. Asimismo, se identifican síntomas como vómitos, aumento del ejercicio de manera desproporcionada o cansancio. El análisis realizado lleva a la conclusión de que La película “Perfect body” (1997) muestra de una manera real, sencilla y visual los factores de riesgo y síntomas que sufren las gimnastas de alto rendimiento con un trastorno de conducta alimentaria, lo que hace de ella una película muy recomendable para abordar esta temática. The film Everest (2015) faithfully reflects the previous symptoms that occurred during ascension, an important reason to understand the effects of altitude and low gas pressures on the human body. In this paper we address both problems, Everest can help students to understand and reflect on the challenges for body homeostasis that take place at great heights.; El Desastre del 96 del Monte Everest se refiere a los eventos ocurrido del 10 al 11 de mayo de 1996, cuando ocho personas atrapadas en un temporal perdieron la vida, algunos durante el ascenso y, aquellos que ya habían hecho cumbre, mientras descendían. La película Everest (2015) refleja fielmente los síntomas previos ocurridos durante la ascensión, razón importante para comprender los efectos de la altura y de las bajas presiones de gases sobre el cuerpo humano.
