Among the structural peculiarities of these organs can be pointed out the following: a) the existence of medular vascular bundles irregularly distributed in the stem; b) the presence of an endodermis or «bundle sheath» in the floral and folial primordia; c) a lateral primary meristem coincident with the pericicle of the stem. The model of development of the root, its central vascular system and the meristemal activity responsible of its secondary growth have also been analyzed.
