[EN] The purpose of this study was to analyze, with the Rasch model for rating scales, obsessive-compulsive inventory (OCI), which has the potential to be used as a screening tool in the general population. The IOC was originally developed by the author and Baptista, in 2008 and consists of 105 items of characteristic symptoms of obsessive-compulsive disorder. In this investigation participated 220 subjects, 87 diagnosed with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder and 133 without the above condition. In a first step it was confirmed that the response categories were adequate, although 27 items had to be removed to present differential functioning between groups (clinical or normal) and between sexes. We present the final version of the inventory composed of 78 items with 5 response categories, who has reached the standards set and displayed an appropriate psychometric quality. The impact analysis shows no differences associated with gender and the group itself, which allows a suitable discrimination. Although the OCI can be considered one-dimensional from a statistic point of view, which involves psychometric advantages, the content of its items would also take into consideration the different facets of OCD in an individualized analysis of the responses of patients thanks to the information provided by set scaling.
