Trasladar del francés al castellano en la Edad Media. El Libro del Tesoro

Abstract

[ES] En este artículo se exponen y comentan algunos contextos y palabras contenidos en los manuscritos medievales de la versión castellana del Libro del Tesoro de Brunetto Latini que parecen responder a errores de traducción, en unos casos, y de transmisión, en otros. Su presencia es una muestra más de cómo trabajaban traductores y copistas en la Edad Media y nos recuerda la necesidad de acudir a los testimonios más antiguos de una obra traducida, aunque desconozcamos el manuscrito exacto que sirvió de base, para interpretar el texto.

[EN] This article describes and discusses some contexts and words contained in the medieval manuscripts of the Spanish version of the Book of the Treasure of Brunetto Latini which seem to respond to errors in translation, in some cases, and transmission to others. Their presence is another example of how working translators and copyists in the Middle Ages and reminds us of the need to resort to the oldest evidence of a translated work, although we don't know what is the exact manuscript that served as the basis for interpreting the text.
