Evolución y situación del teatro negroafricano

Abstract

[ES] Este estudio ofrece una amplia panorámica del desarrollo del teatro africano a partir de la independencia de los países africanos (finales de los años cincuenta) a la actualidad, mostrando que es un género que se mantiene completamente vivo por su estrecha conexión con la tradición oral de las culturas africanas. El teatro africano, aparte de seguir siendo escrito por un buen número de dramaturgas y dramaturgos africanos, se realiza de forma muy extendida en barrios y poblados como herramienta de concienciación social que contribuya a la transformación de problemáticas sociales concretas que preocupan a esas comunidades. Al final del ensayo se incluye una lista de las dramaturgas y dramaturgos africanos más conocidos. [EN] This study displays a broad view of the development of African theatre since the independence of African countries (end of the 1950s) until present, showing that theatre is a genre fully alive due to its intimate connection to the oral tradition in African cultures. African theatre, apart from being written by a large number of African playwrights (men and women), it is widely spread and performed in neighbourhoods and villages as a tool to raise consciousness and contribute to the transformation of social specific problems that concern these communities. At the end of the essay, a list of main African playwrigts is provided.
