Resumen
[ES] Analiza el arabismo amogataz, de uso poco frecuente la etimología y recogido con pocas referencias en los diccionarios. Profundiza en su etimología, significado y uso frecuente. Comenta sobre el entorno social en el que surge el término hacia fines del siglo XV, estableciendo que hace referencia, en su primera acepción, al moro que bautizado o no sirve de espía, guía o auxiliar a las tropas españolas en ciertos presidios africanos. Aclarando que se carece de evidencia para firmar, como se creía, que el término se refiere a los soldados moros de cavalaría [EN] Analyzes amogataz Arabism, infrequently used and collected etymology with few references in dictionaries.
