[EN]The confrontation carried out by the different political families (whether liberal or not) all along the Liberal Triennium had an extraordinary inflection point with the election of December 1821, which was reinforced by the nation-wide situation of protest in these same days. The present essay enhances this circumstance by analysing the process and the result of the election held, with this particular background, in the city of Salamanca. The winner in this election was the extreme group over the opposite group, which was formed by the moderate, the ultra moderate and the absolutists.
[ES] El enfrentamiento protagonizado por las diferentes familias políticas (liberales o no) a lo largo del Trienio Liberal, tuvo un extraordinario punto de inflexión en las elecciones de diciembre de 1821, al cual contribuyó el contexto de protesta en que se vieron inmersas las provincias por las mismas fechas. El presente trabajo pone de relieve esta circunstancia a través del estudio del proceso y resultado electoral que, con este telón de fondo, se desarrolló en la ciudad de Salamanca. El triunfo final de estas elecciones fue para el partido exaltado, frente al grupo opositor de moderados, ultramoderados y absolutistas.
