Listas guía de comprobación en publicaciones biomédicas

Abstract

[ES] Introducción y objetivos: Los autores, los revisores, los editores y los lectores deben disponer de herramientas específicas que les ayuden en el proceso de elaboración, revisión o lectura de los artículos. Objetivo: ofrecer un resumen de las principales listas guía de comprobación para distintos tipos de artículos de investigación biomédica. Material y método: revisión bibliográfica y de los recursos del grupo EQUATOR network y las revisiones y adaptaciones en castellano publicadas por las revistas Medicina Clínica y Evidencias en Pediatría. Resultados: se exponen las principales listas guía elaboradas por distintos grupos de trabajo. Para estudios experimentales (CONSORT y TREND), para estudios observacionales (STROBE), para estudios de precisión diagnóstica (STARD), para revisiones sistemáticas y metaanálisis (PRISMA) y para estudios de mejora de la calidad (SQUIRE). Conclusiones: la utilización de las listas guía ayuda a mejorar la calidad de los artículos y ayuda a los autores, a los revisores, al editor y a los lectores en la elaboración y comprensión del contenido.

[EN] Introduction and objectives: the authors, reviewers, editors and readers must have specific tools that help them in the process of drafting, review, or reading the articles. Objective: to offer a summary of the major checklists for different types of biomedical research articles. Material and method: review literature and resources of the EQUATOR Network and adaptations in Spanish published by Medicina Clínica and Evidencias en Pediatría journals. Results: are the checklists elaborated by various working groups. (CONSORT and TREND), experimental studies for observational studies (STROBE), accuracy (STARD) diagnostic studies, systematic reviews and meta-analyses (PRISMA) and for studies to improve the quality (SQUIRE). Conclusions: the use of checklists help to improve the quality of articles and help to authors, reviewers, to the editor and readers in the development and understanding of the content.
