Un modelo de gestión de riesgos en cirugía de tiroides y paratiroides

Abstract

[EN] Introduction and objective: Research on patient safety in thyroid and parathyroid surgery should be directed toward risk management. The risk management system should detect hazards and prevent the occurrence of failures, detect faults before they cause or minimize its effect through preventive or corrective actions. The aim of this paper is to propose a useful model for risk management in thyroid and parathyroid surgery. Method: Narrative review. Results: A risk management system is presented. Conclusions: The security system for risk management in thyroid and parathyroid surgery is based on the identification of the process steps, in the multidisciplinary work of all agents involved, in the identification of potential failures and preventive measures, in the establishment of a system of reporting incidents, the analysis of incidents and the adoption of immediate corrective action.

[ES] Introducción y objetivo: La investigación sobre seguridad del paciente en cirugía de tiroides y paratiroides debe orientarse hacia la gestión de riesgos. El sistema de gestión de riesgos debe permitir detectar las amenazas y prevenir la presentación de fallos y si éstos se producen detectarlos antes de que provoquen su efecto o minimizarlo mediante acciones preventivas o correctoras. El objetivo de este trabajo es proponer un modelo útil para la gestión de riesgos en cirugía de tiroides y paratiroides. Material y método: Revisión narrativa. Resultados: Se expone un sistema de gestión de riesgos. Conclusiones: El sistema de seguridad para la gestión de riesgos en cirugía de tiroides y paratiroides se basa en la identificación de las etapas del proceso, en el trabajo multidisciplinar de todos los agentes implicados en él, en la identificación de los fallos potenciales y medidas preventivas, en el establecimiento de un sistema de comunicación de incidentes, en el análisis de los incidentes y en la adopción de medidas correctoras inmediatas.
