Participación política y liderazgo de género: las presidentas latinoamericanas

Abstract

Throughout this article we analyze the impact and effect of women who have reached the presidency of their country for at least one term. This study will be conducted from the perspective of political participation and gender leadership and will study and analyze the characteristics of the leadership of these women: Violeta Barrios (Nicaragua), Mireya Moscoso (Panamá), Michelle Bachelet (Chile) and Cristina Fernández (Argentina). The study is a comparative analysis of how women who act as the highest senior officials in their country exercise that power, examining whether the perspective of gender influences the implementation of gender policies and is reflected in the indicators on equality in their country.

A través de este artículo se pretende analizar el impacto y el efecto de las mujeres que han llegado a ocupar la Presidencia de su país durante, al menos, una legislatura. Este estudio se realizará desde una perspectiva de participación política y liderazgo de género que permitirá estudiar y analizar las características del liderazgo de dichas mujeres: Violeta Barrios (Nicaragua), Mireya Moscoso (Panamá), Michelle Bachelet (Chile) y Cristina Fernández (Argentina). El estudio parte de un análisis comparativo sobre cómo las mujeres que ocupan el más alto cargo en su país ejercen dicho poder, estudiando si la perspectiva de género influye en la implementación de políticas de género y aparece reflejada en los indicadores sobre igualdad de su país.
