Arthur Danto y las falacias de las teorías del arte

Abstract

[ES] Este escrito hace un repaso crítico sobre algunos de los temas centrales tratados por el filósofo y crítico de arte Arthur C. Danto a lo largo de su carrera, con un énfasis especial en su famoso ensayo El mundo del arte, presentado aquí en conjunción con el presente escrito, y analiza las razones por las cuales la principal contribución teórica de Danto, su Teoría Institucional del Arte, es una representación deficiente de los problemas inherentes al mundo del arte. Está dividido en dos partes: la primera se centra en la idea de la imitación como esencia del arte, y el concepto de «mundo del arte», y la segunda en el papel de la teoría como explicación final del arte, de acuerdo a Danto. [EN] This paper makes a critical overview of some of the central issues addressed by the philosopher and art critic Arthur Danto throughout his career, with a special emphasis on his famous essay The Art World, presented here in conjunction with this paper, and analyzes the reasons why the main theoretical contribution of Danto, its Institutional Theory of Art, is a flawed representation of the problems inherent to the art world. It is divided in two parts: the first one is centered on the idea of imitation as essence of art, and the concept of «world of art», and the second one in the role of theory as a final explanation of art, according to Danto.
