Los historiadores, los testigos y el pasado reciente. Acerca de los límites de lo decible en el territorio del exilio

Abstract

This paper is an attempt to analyze the tensions that existed among witnesses and historians in a specific chapter of the Recent History, trying to elucidate the representations of the past created by political exiles during the last military dictatorship and those created by historians. The paper is divided into two parts. In the first part, memory policies from the time of the exile to present time are analyzed in an attempt to recognize who were the authors of such stories, where was the emphasis, what was their content, and how the exiles’ memories articulate with social memories on the exile that have been around in Argentina until today. In the second part, a journey into the historiographic field itself is performed, determining the profile of the exile historians, the main topics, approaches and interpretation logics, the most widely used sources and the most common work methodologies.

Este artículo se propone analizar las tensiones entre testigos e historiadores en un capítulo específico de la historia reciente, atendiendo a elucidar las representaciones del pasado elaboradas por los exiliados políticos de la última dictadura militar y las producidas por los historiadores. El trabajo se divide en dos partes. En la primera, se analizan las políticas de memoria que se han sucedido desde la contemporaneidad del destierro hasta hoy, atendiendo a reconocer quiénes han sido los autores de esos relatos, cuáles han sido los énfasis y contenidos y cómo se han articulado las memorias de los exiliados con las memorias sociales sobre el destierro que han circulado en Argentina hasta hoy. En la segunda, se realiza un recorrido por el campo historiográfico propiamente dicho, determinando el perfil de los historiadores del exilio, los principales temas, enfoques y lógicas de interpretación, las fuentes más utilizadas y las metodologías de trabajo más usuales.
