Sobre la Guerra Civil española y sus antecedentes: una visión desde Hungría

Abstract

The Spanish Civil War has been dealt with extensively by Hungarian historiography throughout the past five decades. Its memory has been kept alive through a series of testimonials by surviving Hungarian volunteers of the International Brigades. Later on, efforts have also been made to examine the war by way of monographs. The range of archive material available has widened dramatically, particularly after the social and political regime-change of 1989-90. On the occasion of important anniversaries, most recently in 2011, researchers have sought answers to a number of issues relating to the Civil War, joining the international debate on the subject. Several universities partake in this research — notably those of Szeged and Pécs where in the last two decades dozens of papers have been published on the Civil War, its background, and its consequences. The Historical Actas of the universities (Szeged and Kaposvár), as well as the annals of the international labour movement both play a significant role; the latter also contain many short biographies of participants and historians of the war.

Para la historiografía húngara la Guerra Civil española ha sido permanentemente uno de los objetos de mayor interés durante el último medio siglo. Su recuerdo se ha conservado en una serie de memorias de los voluntarios húngaros sobrevivientes de las Brigadas Internacionales. Más tarde hubo intentos también para hacer un análisis monográfico de la guerra. Con el tiempo, sobre todo después del cambio del sistema socio-político de 1989-1990, se amplió el volumen de documentos de archivos accesibles. Con ocasión de los aniversarios, sobre todos los redondos, aunque en el último caso fue en 2011, los investigadores intentaron resolver diversos problemas historiográficos de la Guerra Civil interviniendo también en el debate internacional. En las investigaciones participan varias grandes universidades del país (sobre todo Szeged y Pécs) en la que en las dos últimas décadas se alumbraron varias docenas de tesis sobre la Guerra Civil, antecedentes y consecuencias. Las actas hisoriográficas de las universidades (Szeged, Kaposvár) tienen también mucha importancia, igual que el anuario del movimiento obrero internacional en el que se publicaron varias cortas biografías de los personajes e historiadores de la guerra.
