Ser, verdad y misterio: El poema de Parménides

Abstract

[ES] En el presente artículo se defiende una posición intermedia entre las tradicionales interpretaciones del poema de Parménides, a saber: la “logicista”, que ve en el poema un simple envoltorio metafórico para defender tesis metafísicas de elevado nivel de abstracción, y la más en boga últimamente, que tiende a leer el poema en sentido más literal y ve en él la exposición de ciertas doctrinas “mistéricas”. Pensamos que ambas líneas corren paralelas en el texto y que, en consecuencia, hay que distinguir, por un lado, entre la “vía de la verdad”, más próxima a un relato mistérico-simbólico, y la vía (sin nombre en el poema) que podríamos llamar “racional” (la que sostiene la unidad de todo lo real en cuanto ser). Una consecuencia importante de este planteamiento es que la llamada “vía de la opinión” no ha de verse en oposición a las dos mencionadas, sino como una vía paralela que, iluminada por éstas, permite dar cuenta a la vez de los dualismos y oposiciones manifestados por los sentidos y de su superación última en una verdad que los trasciende y a la que se accede tanto por vía mística como por vía racional.

[EN] In this article we defend an intermediate position between the traditional interpretations of the poem of Parmenides, namely: the “logicist”, who sees in the poem a simple metaphorical wrapper to defend metaphysical thesis of a high level of abstraction, and the one more in vogue lately, which tends to read the poem in a most literal sense and sees it as the exposure of certain “mysteric” doctrines. We think that both lines run parallel on the text, and therefore, it must be distinguished, on the one hand, between the “way of truth”, closer to a mysteric-symbolic narrative, and the way (unnamed in the poem ) that we might call “rational” (which maintains the unity of all the real as being). An important consequence of this approach is that the “way of opinion” must not be seen as opposed to the two already mentioned, but as a parallel pathway, that, illuminated by them, gives account of both the dualisms and oppositions expressed by the senses and its ultimate overcoming in a truth that transcends them and which is accessed to via both a mystical and a rational way.
