Análisis de la traducción de una novela japonesa de Yoko Ogawa: de «Ninshin karenda» (1991) a «El embarazo de mi hermana» (2006)

Abstract

[EN]In this study we analyze the translation of a Yoko Ogawa’s Japanese novel: Ninshin karenda (1991), called in Spanish El embarazo de mi hermana (2006). Taking into account that every language has its own way of expression, always exists modifications of the original meanings at translating from one language to another. Along this study of comparative literature, I’ll show that even if we can easily understand the meaning of the translation’s novel plot, readers of the Spanish version are not able to notice a lot of details as a result of the difficulty or even the impossibility of the translation of these details in the target language, particularly taking into account the use of onomatopoeia, personifications and metaphors, which are narrative resources used repeatedly by this Japanese novelist.

[ES]En este estudio se realiza un análisis de la traducción de una novela japonesa de Yoko Ogawa: Ninshin karenda (1991), titulada El embarazo de mi hermana (2006) en español. Teniendo en consideración que cada idioma tiene su manera de expresarse, siempre existen modificaciones del sentido original al traducir de un idioma a otro. A través de este estudio de literatura comparada, mostraré que, aunque se entienda perfectamente la trama de la historia en el texto traducido al español, los lectores de la traducción no pueden percibir muchos matices como resultado de la dificultad e incluso de la imposibilidad de traducirlos a la lengua meta, sobre todo teniendo en cuenta el uso de onomatopeyas, personificaciones y metáforas, que son recursos narrativos utilizados reiteradamente por la novelista japonesa.
