Resumen
[EN]The physical dimension of literature has dominated the field of literary reflection until recently, when the emergence of new verbal art forms/n–such as postcolonial literatures and digital literature– has produced a relativization and redefinition of old categories and postulates that limited the corpus of study to a few works and, so doing, restricted the understanding of the literary phenomenon. In the field of comparative literature, this change is reflected in the rise of the paradigm of world literature and translation studies. However, the study of oral literature or orature still has a great methodological and analytical vacuum within literary comparatism. In this sense, this article seeks to problematize the concept of world literature –as literary circulation– and literary translation from the point of view of oral literature, taking as illustrative example the Sephardic community.
