A Clockwork Orange y el estado mecánico del bienestar

Abstract

[EN]The present essay is analyzing not only the relation between A Clockwork Orange and the British Society of the 1960s, but also the lost of identity which suffers when it was adapted for the film. Because of that, on the one hand, I’m going to refer to its absolute change of meaning due to its post processing from an incomplete copy and its further transformation in the well-known homonymous film carried out by the American film director Stanley Kubrick in 1971 and, on the other hand, I’m going to allude to the relation between Anthony Burgess’ novel, written and published in the uk in 1962, the time in which it was written and the author’s own biography.

[ES]En el presente trabajo se analizarán tanto los vínculos existentes entre A Clockwork Orange y la sociedad británica de los 60, como la pérdida de identidad que sufrió esta obra al ser adaptada para la gran pantalla. Por ello, en primer lugar se hará alusión al absoluto cambio de sentido de la que ésta fue objeto, a través de su reelaboración a partir de una copia incompleta y su posterior transformación en la conocida película homónima llevada al cine por el director estadounidense Stanley Kubrick en el año 1971. Por otra parte, se hará referencia a la relación existente entre esta novela de Anthony Burgess, escrita y publicada en Reino Unido en 1962, el tiempo que le es coetáneo y la propia biografía del autor.
