Infraestructuras de datos espaciales tridimensionales: hacia un modelo real de la información geográfica

Abstract

[ES] Esta tesis doctoral desarrolla un completo análisis de la situación actual de las IDE con respecto a la tercera dimensión, abordando líneas de investigación a futuro y analizando las necesidades y debilidades que se presentan. Tras profundizar en los conocimientos sobre IDE a través del máster en Geotecnologías cartográficas en Ingeniería y Arquitectura de la Universidad de Salamanca y, tras comprobar tanto la necesidad como la convergencia de diversas ramas técnico-científicas en materia de gestión de información geográfica (IG) tridimensional, se decide, a través de este trabajo desarrollar un proyecto de investigación centrado en las IDE 3D. Siguiendo un enfoque cualitativo en el desarrollo de la metodología de investigación, se hace patente la importancia de lo que supone la tercera dimensión espacial para el desempeño de las actividades cotidianas del ser humano en nuestros tiempos. El análisis de las encuestas y entrevistas realizadas con especialistas prestigiosos en este campo ponen de manifiesto la necesidad de promover la investigación y el desarrollo tecnológico en el ámbito de las IDE 3D y de los servicios que deben acompañar a las mismas. Finalmente, se definen los elementos necesarios para poder implementar una IDE tridimensional, teniendo en cuenta todos los parámetros de desarrollo, tanto técnicos como legales, necesarios para cumplir con los actuales marcos tecnológicos, normativos, jerárquicos y legales. A través del trabajo desarrollado, se pone de manifiesto la existencia de una gran cantidad de iniciativas, que con carácter experimental han surgido para solucionar las carencias en lo relativo a la gestión y publicación de IG tridimensional. Se ha constatado que, por lo general, la adaptación de la tercera dimensión por parte de las IDE está en fase germinal, con muchas posibilidades de avance y aporte de contribuciones científicas y tecnológicas. Este documento intenta ser una de esas contribuciones.

[EN] This doctoral thesis develops a complete analysis of the current situation of SDI with respect to the third dimension, addressing future research lines and analysing the needs and weaknesses that are presented. After deepening the knowledge on SDI through the master in Cartographic Geotechnologies in Engineering and Architecture at the University of Salamanca and, after checking both the need and the convergence of diverse technical-scientific branches in the matter of three-dimensional geographic information (GI) management, it is decided, through this work, to develop a research project focused on 3D SDI. Following a qualitative approach in the development of the research methodology, it becomes clear the importance of what the third space dimension represents for the performance of the daily activities of the human being in our days. The analysis of surveys and interviews with prestigious specialists in this field show the need to promote research and technological development in the field of 3D SDI and the services that must accompany them. Finally, the necessary elements are defined to be able to implement a three-dimensional SDI, taking into account all the development parameters, both technical and legal, necessary to comply with the current technological, normative, hierarchical and legal frameworks. Through the work developed, the existence of a large number of initiatives, which have emerged experimentally to solve the shortcomings in the management and publication of three-dimensional GI, is revealed. It has been observed that, generally, the adaptation of the third dimension by SDI is in the germinal phase, with many possibilities of advancement and scientific and technological contributions. This document aims to be one of these contributions.
