La Shoah en el diccionario de intraducibles o cómo traducir el paisaje inenarrable del Holocausto

Abstract

[EN]This study emphasizes the existence of intimate connections between translation and holocaust literature and deconstructs not only the idea of authority but also the binary opposition between translation and creative writing. The author introduces the concept of (un)translatable (B. Cassin) as a productive notion that fosters the cultural richness and diversity.This contribution supports the dialogical nature of transferring the trauma into narrative and considers translation and holocaust literature as constructions of new meanings and as processes of collaborative relationships and responsibility. The ineffable can be narrated. All these ideas are justified using different literary texts as a source, and key features of Holocaust literature are identified. Moreover, both the process of translation and the strategies of translating holocaust literature are also illustrated.

[ES]Este trabajo enfatiza la existencia de estrechas relaciones entre traducción y literatura del Holocausto y deconstruye no solo la idea de autoridad, sino también la oposición binaria entre traducción y escritura creativa. Se introduce el término (in)traducibilidad de Barbara Cassin como un concepto productivo que favorece la diversidad cultural y los silencios en los procesos de traducción y narración del trauma.La traducción y la literatura del Holocausto son entendidas como procesos dialógicos, en los que tienen lugar una relación colaborativa y una responsabilidad narrativa. A través de distintos ejemplos literarios se ilustra este proceso traslativo y se identifican características relevantes de la literatura del Holocausto. Lo inefable puede ser narrado.
