dc.description.abstract[EN]Meena Kandasamy‟s Touch (2006) subverts the limiting structures of power that control Indian public and private spheres through the political control and imposition of caste and religion. This chapter firstly describes the mechanisms of how power elites in India manipulate narra tions of the nation and it then presents counter discourses that denounce and aim at destabilising that control. Meena Kandasamy is afterwards presented as an Indian writer, poet and activist who challenges those interlocking systems of patriarchal, politi cal and religious control in India. How Kandasamy discovers and dismantles the patriarchal nature of these political and religious structures in her first poetry collection Touch becomes the subsequent subject matter.es_ES
