dc.description.abstract[EN]Introduction: Parkinson's disease (PD) is a neurodegenerative disorder caused by selective loss of dopaminergic neurons of the substantia nigra pars compacta and other brainstem nuclei. It is characterized by the presence of motor symptoms, diffuse deposit of alpha-synuclein (component of Lewy bodies) and cognitive disorders, which are present in varying degrees (in some patients may be while in others) around 10 to 15 years of evolution, which significantly delayed some intervention. In addition, in some cases does not identify itself showing deterioration PD patients is proper subject of normal aging or due to disease progression. To analyze cognitive performance in patients with PD without dementia (GPO1), comparing the results with those of a sample of patients without PE (GP2), no clinically demonstrable neurological or psychiatric history and sociodemographic characteristics Similar to patients with PD. Procedure: Once satisfied the inclusion criteria, participants GPO1 And GPO2 were assessed with the Brief Neuropsychological Battery in Spanish NEUROPSI (Ostrosky-Solis, Ardila and Rosselli 1994) individually in a one-hour session. Results: Our data indicate that subjects with PD without dementia present lower cognitive performance compared to the results obtained by the group of subjects without PD, particularly in tasks of time orientation, semantic fluency, phonological fluency, writing, Motor functions, visuospatial memory and verbal memory. Likewise, it was shown that the performance of the tasks of visual detection, naming, repetition and reading aloud, by the group with PE, received a better score compared to that performed by the group without PE. Finally, although the analysis of the results showed that the scores obtained by both groups in the tasks of orientation in place and person, of digits in regression, of successive subtraction, of spontaneous memory curve, relation of similarities, calculation and Sequencing, do not keep significant differences between them, their general yields are low. Conclusions: The analysis of our results allows us to conclude that subjects with PD have lower cognitive performance compared to those obtained by the group of healthy subjects with similar socio demographic characteristics in the NEUROPSI Battery. Likewise, it is possible that the slowness to perform tasks, the presence of latencies, low tone of voice and monotonous, fatigue and micrography, may be related to a low tone of cortical activation (crosslinking system ascending and descending); And difficulties in carrying out tasks that require the creation of intentions, formation of plans and programs of their actions, maintenance of cognitive programs (activities directed towards a goal), lack of self-generation of keys to solve a problem Presented, can be related to a malfunction of the left frontal lobe; And finally, it is likely that difficulties in performing tasks of memory, both verbal, visual and spatial, are likely to be secondary to a deficit in the attentional and organizational control required during the coding and recovery phases of said material. The qualitative analysis of the results allows us to perform not only the enumeration of symptoms as isolated elements, but allows us to establish possible pathways of neuropsychological intervention.
