Potencialidades e práticas de integração das dimensões sociocultural e biofísica em equipamentos para a educação ambiental: estudos de caso do Eixo Atlântico (Norte de Portugal e Galiza)

Abstract

[PT] onsiderando o papel dos equipamentos para a educação ambiental (EqEA) como espaços que favorecem experiências significativas e multidisciplinares, o presente estudo teve como objecto de análise um conjunto de EqEA situados na Euroregião do Eixo Atlântico. O foco da investigação recaiu sobre a análise das potencialidades e práticas de integração, em projetos educativos destes espaços, das dimensões biofísica e sociocultural da realidade com que trabalham. O trabalho foi desenvolvido através do estudo de casos múltiplos, com realização de entrevistas semi-estruturadas a responsáveis de EqEA e a especialistas em educação ambiental. Como elementos determinantes de uma maior ou menor integração, os resultados mostram a existência de fatores internos do funcionamento dos EqEA e fatores inerentes à relação com o exterior, quer na Galiza quer no Norte de Portugal, embora com algumas diferenças territoriais. Além do mais, detetaram-se dois vectores opostos: por um lado, uma série de características que estão mais próximas da realidade do resto do território do Eixo Atlântico e que apontam dificuldades para integrar a dimensão sociocultural em todo o seu potencial e, por outro lado, características reveladoras de um elevado nível de integração e impacto social, que constituem qualidades a promover noutros contextos. [EN] Considering the role of environmental education equipment (EqEA) as spaces that favor meaningful and multidisciplinary experiences, this study aimed to analyze a set of EqEAs located in the Atlantic Axis Euroregion. The focus of the investigation was on the analysis of the integration potentialities and practices, in educational projects of these spaces, the biophysical and sociocultural dimensions of the reality with which they work. The work was developed through the study of multiple cases, conducting semi-structured interviews with EqEA managers and environmental education specialists. As determinants of greater or lesser integration, the results show the existence of internal factors of EqEA functioning and factors inherent in the relationship with the outside, both in Galicia and in Northern Portugal, although with some territorial differences. Furthermore, two opposing vectors were detected: on the one hand, a series of characteristics that are closer to the reality of the rest of the Atlantic Axis territory and which point to difficulties in integrating the socio-cultural dimension into its full potential, and on the other. On the other hand, characteristics that reveal a high level of integration and social impact, which are qualities to be promoted in other contexts..
