Big Data en las bibliotecas universitarias y científicas

Abstract

[ES] Se realiza un trabajo de investigación sobre el grado de conocimiento e implantación del término Big Data y sus características principales en las bibliotecas universitarias y científicas españolas inscritas en REBIUN y el CSIC respectivamente, con el objetivo de observar si estas instituciones se encuentran capacitadas para el aprovechamiento de las ventajas proporcionadas por el tratamiento masivo de datos. Para ello, se realiza una recogida de datos a través de un cuestionario cuya respuesta proviene de fuentes de las diferentes bibliotecas. Por último, se establecen una serie de conclusiones junto a unas propuestas de mejora y líneas de trabajo futuras que permitan la correcta implantación, uso y aprovechamiento del Big Data en la oferta de servicios y funciones de las bibliotecas universitarias y científicas españolas. [EN] A research work is carried out on the degree of knowledge and implementation of the term Big Data and its main characteristics in the Spanish university and scientific libraries registered in REBIUN and the CSIC respectively, with the objective of observing if these institutions are qualified for the use of the advantages provided by the massive data processing. For this, a complete data collection is carried out through a questionnaire whose response comes from different library sources. Finally, a series of conclusions are established together a proposals for improvement and future lines of work that allow the correct implementation, use and exploitation of Big Data in the offer of services and functions of the Spanish university and scientific libraries.
