Resumen
[EN]The relation between the non-coding RNA polymorphisms and the possible predisposition to suffer different kinds of cancer has been studied for quite some time. This research studies the correlation between single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in 5 genes (miR-146A, miR-196A2, miR-499A and two HOTAIR SNPs) and the predisposition to develop breast and ovary cancer. The size of the studied sample was 99 patients and 133 controls. The method used for the analysis of the samples genotype was the Taqman allelic discrimination assay and afterwards, a statistical analysis was done, which indicated that any of the studied genotypes showed significant statistical difference between the patients and the controls. With the results obtained (p > 0,05 in every case) we could conclude that the presence of SNPs in the studied genes is unrelated with the predisposition to develop breast and ovary cancer in the studied population.
