Realidad, razón y utopía en los proyectos de la Universidad de Salamanca de los años cincuenta

Abstract

This paper is primarily concerned with a number of projects and reports about specific requirements that came out during the fifties at the University of Salamanca. The long history of this institution is still, for its richness and complexity, an essential object of study. Framed in the research devoted to the History of Universities, the paper describes and analyses, through the historical-educational approach, a particular aspect of this institution, projects and academics' reports at a particular stage during Franco's regime. On the other hand, the main aim of this paper is to serve as a stimulus for reflection on the trinominal: reality of the University under Franco's regime - considerations about scholastic reasoning - utopian or feasible proposals. The atmosphere of discontent at the University,the need to reduce the dearth of research or the scarcity of resources will be overt issues in the reviewed documents.

El artículo que se presenta a continuación refiere una serie de proyectos e informes de necesidades que vieron la luz durante la década de los cincuenta en la Universidad de Salamanca. La dilatada historia de esta institución sigue siendo, por su gran riqueza y complejidad, objeto de imprescindibles estudios. El artículo, enmarcado en la línea de investigación dedicada a la Historia de las Universidades, describe y analiza, a través del método histórico-educativo, un aspecto concreto de la institución salmantina –los proyectos e informes de docentes- durante una etapa determinada del franquismo. Por otro lado, la intención principal del mismo es servir como acicate para la reflexión en torno al trinomio: realidad universitaria franquista - consideración de la razón docente - propuestas utópicas o factibles. El clima de inconformismo universitario, la necesidad de reducir el ayuno investigador o la gravosa carestía de recursos serán cuestiones ostensibles en los documentos analizados.
