Inocencia y holocausto en Hijos de un mismo Dios (2001) de Yurek Bogayevicz

Abstract

Second World War is, undoubtedly, the most traumatic event of the 20th century. And within the War, the most unique and heart-breaking was the Shoah, the extermination of the Jews. The viewpoints that have been offered on this fact, be it from documentary cinema or fiction cinema, passing through uncountable cinema genres and styles, have been very diverse. This article addresses specifically the keys of the film Edges of the Lord by Yurek Bogayevicz, which offers a revealing and metaphorical account of the experiences of several children in occupied Poland and, therefore, of that brutal and inhuman world which arose under the wing of the extermination camps. Bogayevicz summarizes the depravity of the Nazi regime and the piercing effect it had to innocent youth.

La Segunda Guerra Mundial es, sin duda, el acontecimiento más traumático del siglo xx. Y dentro de la guerra el más singular y desgarrador fue la Shoah, el exterminio del pueblo judío. Los puntos de vista que se han ido ofreciendo sobre este hecho han sido muy diversos, ya sea desde el cine documental o desde el cine de ficción, pasando por innumerables géneros y estilos cinematográficos. Este artículo aborda, en concreto, las claves del filme Hijos de un mismo Dios (2001), de Yurek Bogayevicz, que nos ofrece un revelador, y metafórico, relato de las vivencias de varios niños en la Polonia ocupada y, por lo tanto, de aquel mundo brutal e inhumano, que surgió a la sombra de los campos de la muerte. Bogayevicz condensa la perversidad del nazismo y el efecto tan desgarrador que tuvo para la inocente juventud.
