La memoria en la configuración de Atenas (s. VI a. C.)

Abstract

The rise of memory as a category for historical analysis opens the door to the use of concepts which allow us understand the ways in which the past of a given society was built, as well as this past is essential for the community to survive. A process of re-elaboration of the past, the foundational myths and the historical topography took place in Athens at the end of Archaism (7th to 6th centuries BC). Through discursive, spatial and ritual analysis we are able to observe the new ideologies of the city, the hierarchy of spaces and the relations of power within the social groups

El auge de la memoria como categoría de análisis histórico permite aplicar conceptos que analizan las formas en las que se construye el pasado de una sociedad y cómo este permite la supervivencia de la comunidad. En la Atenas de finales del siglo VII y principios del VI a. C., se da un proceso de reelaboración del pasado, de los mitos fundacionales y de la topografía histórica de la ciudad. El análisis de los discursos, los espacios y los rituales a través de la memoria desvelan las nuevas ideologías de la ciudad, la jerarquización de espacios y las relaciones de poder entre grupos sociales
