[EN] The study aimed to identify the role of strategic foresight management in improving
the health sector system (case study of public hospitals), and the dimensions of the
study were defined as follows: Independent variable: foresight strategies (foresight, market
forecasting competitiveness, technological foresight, integration capabilities, strategic
choice, and the dependent variable: improving the health system (administrative
improvements, technological improvements, competitive improvements, quality), and the
application environment is the Iraqi government hospitals.
The study adopted booth a qualitative and the quantitative methodology, the
last one in its descriptive and analytical style, and used the questionnaire as a study
tool in collecting primary data from the study sample, which amounted to 172 employees
in the government hospitals under study, and the SPSS program was used in analyzing
the data. The study found the most important results:
1- There is an application of foresight in the public hospitals under study.
2- There is a role for foresight in improving the health system of the hospitals
under study.
3- There is an application of the competitiveness of market forecasting by the
public hospitals under study.
4- There is a role for the competitiveness of market forecasting in improving
the health system of the hospitals under study.
5- There is a role for technological insight in improving the health system of
the hospitals under study.
6- There is an application of integration capabilities in the public hospitals
under study.
7- There is an application of the strategic choice in the public hospitals under
study. 8- There is a role for the strategic choice in improving the health system of
the hospitals under study. This result was confirmed by the opinions of the sample
members.
9- There is a role for foresight strategies in improving the health system in the
public hospitals under study.
