La lógica de la analogía. Justificación deductiva de los argumentos analógicos

Abstract

[ES] Una analogía es una comparación. Un argumento por analogía es el razonamiento que surge a partir de dicha comparación. Dadas ciertas similitudes entre dos objetos, dadas ciertas características compartidas entre estos, podemos inferir que comparten una característica más. ¿Qué nos permite hacer dicha inferencia? Es la pregunta que respondo en este trabajo. La respuesta es que es una inferencia deductiva, no una inductiva ni de algún otro tipo. Para probar esto debo primero explicar la estructura tradicional de los argumentos por analogía, las dos justificaciones alternativas, la inductiva y la suigéneris - que postula un tipo especial de inferencia diferente a las dos tradicionales- y posteriormente presentaré mi propuesta. [EN] An analogy is a comparison. An argument by analogy is the reasoning that arises from such a comparison. Given certain similarities between two objetcs, given certain shared characteristics between them, we can infer that they share one more characteristic. What allow us to make this inference? This is the question I answer in this work. The answer is that it is a deductive inference, not an inductive one or of any other type. To prove this, I must first explain the traditional structure of arguments by analogy, the two alternative justifications, the inductive one and the sui generis one - which postulates a special type of inferente different from the two traditional ones- and then I will present my proposal.
