Construyendo la casa por los cimientos: consideraciones acerca de la cerámica de la primera Alta Edad Media en la parte central de la cuenca del Duero

Abstract

In this paper, four Early Middle Age ceramic contexts, which are located in the central area of the Duero basin, will be analysed. For this purpose, a methodology built from the theoretical proposals of the Anthropology of Technology will be used. The dating of these contexts, crossing the conclusions of ceramic analysis with some absolute dating, has allowed a diachronic analyse, sequencing the different operating chains present in them. From this sequencing some considerations about pottery production between the 5th and 8th centuries will be made. This pretends to be a first step for future work to deepen onto this materiality not only chronologically but also in social and economic terms.
