Abstract

The article addresses the figure of Dante as a constant and growing reference and comparison of intellectual and political engagement over time and the present. As the validity that is generated by the controversy, a review is made of Dante, a committed witness of his time and a political element evidenced in his work, which is what leads him to become that political element, as tangible testimony for other eras up to the present.

El artículo aborda la figura de Dante como referencia y comparación constante y creciente del compromiso intelectual y político a lo largo del tiempo y en la actualidad. Como vigencia que se genera en la controversia, se hace un repaso de ese Dante testigo comprometido de su tiempo y elemento político evidenciado en su obra, que es la que da lugar a que se convierta en ese elemento político, testimonio aferrable para otras épocas hasta el presente.
