Las batallas por el relato: el impacto cultural y mediático

Abstract

[EN] When the guns fell silent in Salvador de Bahia in June 1625, and the news of the victory reached Madrid in July of the same year, news of the victory reached Madrid in July of the same year, another war began, but in this case without gunpowder. It was a ‘war of Pamphlets’, in which the contenders waged two battles: one against the Dutch propaganda that had publicised the partial victory achieved with the invasion of Salvador in 1624; the other war was, as we would say today,, to impose a narrative, a version of events. All these aspects were present in the cultural and media impact of the great episode of the restauration of Salvador de Bahia in Europe.
