¿Una historia oral? La memoria de los testigos moriscos del reino de Granada en los siglos XV y XVI

Abstract

After the Castilian conquest of the kingdom of Granada, it was needed a reformulation of the defeated society, which was carried out by controlling the Islamic religion and institutions. Along with this, the conquerors wanted to go even further by renting the memories of the subjugated people. The present paper deals with those Mudejar and Moriscos whose oral testimonies were key pieces in seven lawsuits about terms and territorial boundaries of several settlements of the kingdom of Granada at the end of the fifteenth century and the first decades of the sixteenth.

Tras la conquista castellana del reino de Granada fue necesaria una modificación de la sociedad vencida que se llevó a cabo con el control de la religión y las instituciones islámicas. Junto a ello, los vencedores quisieron llegar más lejos mediante el alquiler de las memorias de los individuos sometidos. El presente trabajo trata sobre aquellos mudéjares y moriscos cuyos testimonios orales fueron piezas clave en siete pleitos sobre términos y deslindes territoriales de varias poblaciones del reino granadino a finales del siglo XV y las primeras décadas del XVI.
