Una nueva inscripción latina funeraria del Oxirrinco Romano

Abstract

This article aims to report the discovery of a new Latin inscription found during the excavation of tomb n.42 of the Upper Necropolis of the city of Oxyrhynchus in 2019. The discovery represents a further milestone in the knowledge of the Latin epigraphy of the site since there are hardly any other documented Latin inscriptions. It will be added to the epigraphic databank of the city, increasing the knowledge about its citizens and the Roman period in Oxyrhynchus.

El presente estudio quiere poner en conocimiento el hallazgo de una nueva inscripción latina localizada durante las excavaciones del 2019 en la tumba 42 de la Necrópolis Alta de la ciudad de Oxirrinco. Este hallazgo supone un hito más en el conocimiento de la epigrafía latina del yacimiento puesto que apenas se tienen inscripciones en latín documentadas y se sumará a la colección de epigrafía de la ciudad acrecentando el conocimiento sobre sus ciudadanos y el período romano en la misma.
