Writing «Soltanto la Vita e Soltanto Se Si Ha Qualcosa da Dire che Non Si Vuole Vada Perduto»: the Voluntary Memory of Luisa Adorno Rosario Castelli

Abstract

In Luisa Adorno’s writing, there is a constant search for a point of convergence between collective history and personal micro-history. The irruption of wartime events in her life will be the traumatic element that will inexorably mark all her relationships, leading her to approach the circles of anti-fascist intellectuals and the Resistance. Most of the works, halfway between autobiography and novel, are linked to that memory, in which the remembrances of multiple intellectual ties is aroused from time to time by minimal sensations and the reduction of the great events of the 20th century to the measure of the everyday, through the mixture of private, biographical and memoir insights, marks the narrated life of the author like a sort of metronome.

Nella scrittura di Luisa Adorno c’è la ricerca costante di un punto di convergenza tra Storia collettiva e microstoria personale. L’irruzione degli eventi bellici nella sua vita sarà l’elemento traumatico che segnerà inesorabilmente tutti i suoi rapporti portandola ad accostarsi agli ambienti dell’intellettualità antifascista e della Resistenza. A quella memoria si riannodano gran parte delle opere, a metà fra autobiografia e romanzo, in cui il ricordo di molteplici legami intellettuali è suscitato di volta in volta da sensazioni minime e la riduzione dei grandi eventi del Novecento alla misura del quotidiano, attraverso la mescolanza di tasselli privati, biografici, memoriali, scandisce come una sorta di metronomo la vita narrata dell’autrice.
