Ejemplares de la Historia Augusta en la Biblioteca General Histórica de la Universidad de Salamanca (siglos XV-XVII): algunas notas de lectura

Abstract

This article deals with some aspects of the history of the copies of the Historia Augusta preserved in the BGH of the University of Salamanca. Firstly, it registers and identifies those printed from the 15th to 17th centuries (twenty incunabula, post-incunabula and printed copies). Secondly, it offers a material analysis of a print from 1568 (Geneva, Henri Éstienne) and a post-incunabulum from 1519 (Florence, heirs of Filippo Giunta), thanks to which a strange printing anomaly in the Florentine edition is attested for the first time. Thirdly, its studies the typology of reading marks and marginal annotations preserved in these two copies. And finally, it provides information on the possible identification of the owner of the copy printed in 1519.
