Resumen
[EN]In a series of 10 patients with Mediterranean spotted fever (MSF) (two of whom developed severe forms of the disease), trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole (TS) was not an effective therapy; moreover, it appeared the drug increased the pathogenic potential of R. cononii. In the opinion of the authors and according to these results, TS cannot be considered an effective therapy for MSF.
