dc.description.abstract[EN] This Thesis examines the role of Morocco’s economic diplomacy and foreign policy in shaping its emergence as a dominant regional power in West Africa. Over the past few decades, Morocco has strategically positioned itself as a pivotal player in Africa through a combination of diplomatic initiatives, economic partnerships, and development aid, particularly in West African countries. By leveraging its geographical proximity, economic capabilities, and soft power, Morocco has successfully navigated complex geopolitical landscapes, enhancing its influence through bilateral and multilateral engagements. This study explores how Morocco’s engagement in sectors such as trade, energy, infrastructure, and education, coupled with its participation in regional organizations like the African Union and the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), has facilitated its rise as a major economic and political force in the continent. The analysis also highlights the key determinants of Morocco’s success in fostering mutually beneficial relationships with West African states and how this diplomacy has contributed to the country’s aspirations of becoming a continental power. Ultimately, this research underscores the critical role of economic diplomacy in shaping Morocco’s foreign policy objectives and its growing influence in West Africa, offering valuable insights into the intersection of foreign policy, economic development, and regional integrationes_ES
