Resumen
[EN] This study approaches the work of the Peruvian poet Blanca Varela from the perspective of Embodied Cognition, a current theory in the field of Cognitive Sciences as well as in the Humanities. Our work, which is situated in the field of lyric theory, studies the hermeneutic importance of different cognitive processes related to poetic thought and draws on methodological instruments of Cognitive Literary Studies. Subsequently, the analysis of literary texts pays particular attention to the imprints of the body in poetic language, both regarding its representation as well as the role of perception and consciousness of the subject in poetry. The corpus analyzed for this purpose consists of a series of Varela’s poems, in which aspects such as the role of the body in the conception of time or the generation of consciousness from sensations will be examined in detail.
