Revista de Lactancia Materna, un análisis en su tercer año

Abstract

The third year of publication of the first Spanish-language journal devoted to breastfeeding is coming to an end. During this period—and excluding the articles that may still be accepted before the year concludes—a total of twenty-six articles have been published in the mother tongue shared by much of the population of the Americas and Spain. For the first time, professionals in Nursing, Midwifery, Pediatrics, Obstetrics, and other medical specialties, as well as Physiotherapists, Psychologists, Biologists, Philosophers, IBCLCs, and even mothers from breastfeeding support groups, have been able to publish their research in their native language. This is by no means insignificant in a scientific world—like so many others—dominated by English, which naturally shapes and biases research in favor of the interests of the Anglo-Saxon cultural sphere. Not to mention the comfort—and one might even say the right—and precision achieved when writing in one’s own language, in a globalized world that often prevents or hinders it.

Va a concluir el tercer año de la publicación de la primera revista en español sobre lactancia materna. En este lapso, a falta de los artículos que se admitirán antes de que acabe el año, 26 artículos han sido publicados en la lengua materna común a gran parte de los habitantes de América y España. Por primera vez, profesionales de Enfermería, matronas, pediatras, obstetras y otras especialidades médicas, fisioterapeutas, profesionales de la Psicología, la Biología y la Filosofía, IBCLCs y hasta madres de grupos de apoyo a la lactancia han podido publicar sus investigaciones en su lengua materna, lo que no es baladí en un mundo, el científico, como tantos otros, dominado por el inglés, que, como es natural, orienta y sesga sus investigaciones del lado de los intereses de la cultura anglosajona. Por no hablar de la comodidad ,-y podría decir el derecho-, y precisión alcanzados al escribir en tu propia lengua en un mundo globalizado que muchas veces lo impide o dificulta.
