Invención de lo íntimo: escritura del yo y novela familiar en Vati (2021) de Monika Helfer

Abstract

[ES] El artículo se centra en el análisis de Vati, novela de Monika Helfer publicada en el año de 2021. Interpretada en función de la tensión que la recurre entre ‘veridicción’ (fr. véridiction) e ‘imaginación’, se problematiza su acomodación a modalidades diferenciadas de la escritura del yo: la autobiografía y la autoficción. Los actos de invención y de memoria que configuran el relato, así, emanan y diseminan una figura fantasmal –de nombre Joseph–, padre de la autora/narradora/personaje, ausencia que deja su trazo vestigial en el enredo de las vivencias familiares, en el proceso creativo de la novela y en el propio ejercicio de su lectura. [EN] The article focuses on the analysis of Vati, a novel by Monika Helfer published in 2021. Interpreted in terms of the tension that recurs between ‘veridiction’ (fr. véridiction) and ‘imagination’, its accommodation to differentiated modalities of the writing of the self is problematized: autobiography and autofiction. The acts of invention and memory that make up the story, thus, emanate and disseminate a ghostly figure – named Joseph – father of the author/narrator/character, an absence that leaves its vestigial trace in the entanglement of family experiences, in the creative process of the novel and in the very exercise of its reading.
