Presencias paradójicas: espacio representación y performatividad en la era digital

Abstract

El objetivo de este texto es reflexionar acerca de los conceptos de presencia, espacio, identidad y representación tomando como referencia las performances que varios colectivos y artistas desarrollan en Second Life. Inscribiremos estas reflexiones en un eje temporal más amplio que parte del fotoconceptualismo y lafotografía performativa de las décadas de los sesenta y setenta, momento en que se produce una colisión entre prácticas fundamentadas en la presencia (de artistas y espectadores) y otras que, sirviéndose de acciones, documentos, videosy fotografías, comienzan a cuestionar las políticas de representación establecidas.

The aim of this text is to reflect on the concepts of presence, space, identity and representation taking as a main reference the performances that several groups and artists develop in Second Life. We will inscribe these reflections in a wider temporary axis, which come from the photoconceptualism and the performativephotography of the sixties and seventies. At that moment, a confrontation is taking place between practices based on the presence (of artists and spectators) and works that, using documents, videos and photographies, begin to question thepolicies of representation established.
