A transformaçâo da cultura de base açoriana catarinense a través do desenvolvimento da pesca e do turismo: um estudo antropológico

Abstract

La presente tesis presenta, a través de un estudio etnográfico, etnohistórico y cultural, un trabajo de campo y de larga investigación en treinta y tres ciudades del litoral catarinense con colonización básicamente azoriana, con un estudio detallado de una de las primeras comunidades colonizadas en el siglo XVIII, la de Ensenada de Brito, en la ciudad de Palhoça, en el continente frontal de la Isla de Santa Catarina, Sur de Brasil. El objetivo es establecer un análisis comparativo con las otras ciudades del litoral que tuvieron en su génesis la colonización de base azoriana, a partir de un estudio minucioso de la demografía local, mostrando el origende los migrantes por la isla azoriana. Se presenta a través de la etnohistoria, una radiografia de la contribución de la colonización azoriana, en el desarrollo de la Provincia de Santa Catarina,principalmente en el desarrollo turístico de las regiones y sus reflejos en la cultura y en la economía, representada aquí por la pesca artesanal. El reflejo de la realidad ambiental también está presente en esta tesis. Las transformaciones sufridas por estas comunidades por la explotaciónturística y el crecimento de la explotación inmobiliaria en estas regiones del litoral han cambiado los biomas naturales, provocando una reacción en la economía pesquera artesanal y en la calidad de vida de los nativos, muchos de los cuales han abandonado la comunidad en búsqueda de supervivencia. Se presentan también las manifestaciones culturales con base azoriana, en los más variados sectores, como las artesanías, las danzas, los rituales religiosos y la arquitectura, que han señalado la vida de los nativos y demuestran su importancia como elemento de identificación e integración entre la sociedad. Se ha trazado también un comparativo de la cultura con base azoriana vivida en el litoral catarinense con la realidad de las nueve islas del Archipélago de los Azores, resaltando aspectos de la historia y de la cultura de este pueblo, además de su evolución demográfica y económica en los últimos años.

The present thesis concerns, through an ethnographic, ethnohistorical and cultural study, a field-based and deep research in thirty-three cities of the Santa Catarina coast from Azoreanbased settlement, with a ponctual and specified study on one of the first communities settled in the XVIII century, The Enseada do Brito, in Palhoça, in the frontal continent of the Santa Catarina Island, south of Brazil. The aim is to stabilish a comparative analisis with the other cities of the coastline which had in their genesis in the Azorean-based settlement, from a detailed study of the local demography, showing the immigrant origin by Azorean Island. It presents,through the ethnohistory, a radiography of the contribution of the Azorean settlement in the State of Santa CatarinaŽs development , mainly in the touristic development of the regions and their reflections in the culture and economy, represented here by the rustic fishing. Thereflection of the enviromental reality is also present in this thesis. The transformations suffered in these communities by the touristic exploration and the growth of the rental explrationin these coastal regions have changed the natural biomass, creating a reaction in the rusticfishing economy and in the quality of the native lives , who had abondoned their communities in search of surviving. Azorean-based cultural manifestations are also presented in many different sectors as, the hand-made art, the dancings, the religious rituals and the architecture which sight the the life of the locals and demonstrate their importance as element of identification and integration of the society. It also traces a comparative between the Azorean culture lived in Santa Catarina s Coast and the reality of the nine island of the Archipelago of Azores, showing aspects of the history and the culture of the people, besides its demographic and economicevolution in the last years.
