La contribución de la escala de inconsistencia de respuesta (I.R.) de Sewell y Rogers (1994) a la validez del MMPI-2

Abstract

Esta investigación analiza la Escala de Inconsistencia de Respuesta (I.R.) de Sewell y Rogers (1994) y su paralelismo con la Psiquiátrica Fp de Arbisi y Ben-Porath (1995, 1998) con el objetivo de poder apreciar su contribución a la detección de la manipulación del MMPI-2. Para este estudio se formaron dos grupos, el denominado como control (n = 1,100) formado por dos subgrupos que contestaron al MMPI-2 de forma honesta y sincera ( clínico y normal ) y otro grupo, denominado experimental (n = 745), formado a su vez por tres subgrupos a quienes que se les instruyó para que contestaran de una forma determinada al MMPI-2 ( fake-good , fake-bad , y respuestas inconsistentes ). Los resultados muestran la sensibilidad de la escala I.R. de Sewell y Rogers (1994) para detectar a los sujetos que intentan exagerar su trastorno u ofrecer una imagen negativa ( fake-bad ) de sí mismos.

This investigation analyzes the Scale of Inconsistency of Answer (I.R.) by Sewell and Rogers (1994) and its parallelism with the Psychiatric Fp by Arbisi and Ben-Porath (1995, 1998), with the objective of being able to appreciate their contribution to the detection of the manipulation of the MMPI-2. For this study there were formed two groups, the control one (n = 1,100) formed by two subgroups who answered the MMPI-2 in an honest and sincere way (clinical and normal) and the experimental group (n = 745), formed by three subgroups who were instructed to answer to the MMPI-2 in a certain way (fake-good, fake-bad, and inconsistent answers). The results show the sensibility of the scale I.R. by Sewell and Rogers (1994) to detect the subjects who try to exaggerate their dysfunction or to offer a negative image (fake-bad) of themselves.
