[ES] La película es un canto a la libertad de las personas y de los pueblos. Narra la vida del héroe escocés William Wallace, que transcurre en las últimas décadas del siglo XIII y los primeros años del XIV. Son momentos muy turbulentos en la historia de Escocia que se encuentra sometida al poder del vecino Rey de Inglaterra, quien gobierna con mano de hierro, mientras se suceden las pugnas y disputas entre lanobleza escocesa por los derechos de sucesión al trono escocés que se encuentra vacante.
