La representación imposible. Mishima, Yourcenary la democracia

Abstract

[ES] Este artículo es un comentario a un conocido ensayo de Marguerite Yourcenar sobre las circunstancias que llevaron aYukio Mishima al suicidio. Yourcenar ofrece una interpretación fundamentalmente política de esos hechos, que difícilmente puede tener cabida en el marco de la concepción estándar de la representación política. De este modo, el artículo se enfrenta a los límites de la representación democrática y a la idea de que el espacio político es un espacio de mediación y representación que permanece incondicionalmente abierto a las razones de todos.

[EN] This article is an analysis of a Marguerite Yourcenar's essay on the facts that led to the well known Yukio Mishima's suicide. Yourcenar offers a political interpretation of that circunstamces that seems difficult to understand within the standard conception of representative democracy. So this article deals with the burdens of democratic representation and with the dialogical conception of politics as a space of mediation and representation of reasons.
